Supervision

I offer clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists and non-clinical supervision for people working within The Health Service, The Criminal Justice System, or Social Care.

I hold a post-graduate certificate in Counselling Supervision, from York St. John University. This qualification is approved by the BACP. I am presently working with a number of counsellors and psychotherapists, at various stages of their development.

My central model of supervision is the Hawkins and Shohet, Seven Eyed Model, which considers the needs of client and counsellor, within their relationship, individually, and in the context of their environments, in order to recognise and understand all the circumstances their therapeutic process might encounter.

Sessions cost £60 per hour, with 1.5 hours being usual, to comply with BACP recommendations.

Clinical supervision

Non - clinical supervision

Working with victims of crime, domestic abuse, vulnerable families, sexual abuse, perhaps with people who are approaching their end of life, or who suffer from chronic illness, is likely to have an effect on staff.

Commonly, people ‘switch off’ how they feel, so that they can get on and do their jobs. Nevertheless, however used to it they become, it is likely that over time, bottling up feelings may adversely affect their ability to cope. Yorkshire Counselling provides Supervisory Support to a number of local employers.

Sessions are usually held on a monthly basis and cost £60 per hour. Longer sessions can be arranged.

Group Supervision

Group supervision is now available to businesses and organisations from £90.
