Deborah Partington
BA (Hons), MA, MBACP (Accred)

Following a career in Financial Services, I decided to have a change of direction and re-train as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist in 2005.  I studied full time for my BA (Hons) in Counselling Studies, gaining a first class honours degree from the University of Leeds in 2008.

In September that year, I began my role at Doncaster Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling Service as Manager & Counsellor. I worked hard to support people to come to terms with rape and abuse issues. Demanding, exacting and very rewarding work, I was privileged to meet and work with some amazing people. As Manager, I developed and promoted the organisation, securing future funding and extending services to younger people and children.

I completed my Masters Degree in Counselling at York St. John University in 2012 and became Accredited as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2014. I further extended my qualifications by gaining the Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling Supervision from York St. John University in 2015.

In 2014, I decided that I would like to build and develop my private practice and secured premises at South Parade, Doncaster. It gives me enormous satisfaction to be able to help people untangle the detail of their lives, and build their confidence, resilience and potential.

It is so easy to drift into a never changing pattern of behaviour, which feels safe, but may be unimaginative and does not encourage or help you to achieve all you are capable of. I enjoy helping people to get a new perspective on who they are and make new choices that bring them greater satisfaction in their lives.

It never ceases to amaze me how brave and courageous

people are and how much they achieve without ever

recognising it. Sessions are supportive, positive and enlightening. Quite

regularly they are filled with humour too!

I believe that everyone deserves a chance to achieve the best

that they are capable of, so that they can face the future

with courage and reliance.

Cassandra Coolledge BA MBACP
Qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Having initially gained a Level 4 Counselling Diploma in 2019, I qualified further with a BA in Counselling Solutions in June 2021.  I have been working in person, by phone and online with clients who have a wide range of issues and life experiences that need support. I have done work with individuals and commercially via companies for whom I supported service users. Using integrative counselling and psychotherapy, I am able to offer a service that is individually tailored to your needs. I offer a warm, welcoming environment that ensures we develop a good therapeutic relationship, with trust and empathy at its heart.

As the client you are at the centre of the whole counselling process and are free to bring all of your problems and experiences to our sessions. Together we will explore the impact that your thoughts and feelings are having on your life, looking at different ways to facilitate change. I like to provide a safe space to support you in restoring your confidence and self-esteem; build on your skills and knowledge of yourself; develop resilience and find a way to fulfil your potential.

The counselling process can support you to make sense of your experiences and develop a 'ToolKit' of strategies that you can use in the future.

The work I do is underpinned by the ethics and principles of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, of which I hold a full membership.

I understand beginning sessions may feel daunting, but you have now taken the first step in seeking support.

What happens during sessions?...

We will begin with an initial assessment to explore what you would like to achieve from counselling and to develop a deeper understanding of what is going on for you, which helps inform our work moving forward. It is also an opportunity for you to see if you would feel comfortable with me as your therapist. If you are happy to move forward, we will then arrange further sessions. During the sessions I will always aim to make you feel comfortable and safe throughout, and will enable you to bring whatever you need to discuss.  It is an exploration of self and of life, both past and present.

I have had particular experience in working with people who have experienced difficult relationships, and/or abusive relationships.  Working with this to help enable and empower people is rewarding for both client and therapist.  It is great to see how people move forward following their sessions.

Below is a list of my qualifications and some testimonials from satisfied clients. I hope this helps give you some insight into how I work.

If you have any questions, please contact me and I will be happy to answer them.
